Investing in workspaces for a new decade
With the 2020s almost upon us, we’ve spent 2019 investing even further in our commercial portfolio, creating future-proofed workspaces which innovative businesses want to call home - meaning we are now at record levels of occupancy across our schemes!
While we’ve injected great designs at sites like Boat Shed, Matchworks, Liverpool’s Ropewalks and more – tenants have been drawn to the work beyond just the aesthetics; we’ve been investing in the communities around the offices too adding things like coffee shops, breakout spaces and urban gardens - great additions which make our developments all the more appealing to modern companies.
It’s something which has resulted in great success, significantly reducing vacant space in our portfolio – at our Matchworks business park in South Liverpool we now have just 7% of workspaces remaining on the market – half of what was vacant earlier this year. It’s a result of great new additions including street food pop up events on Fridays. We’ve let 20,000 sq ft in Merseyside in the past month alone - with many more deals done over the past year.
Beyond the investment, tenants are drawn to our flexible attitude as a landlord too; our leases are monthly to long-term with support for every occupier ensuring they can adapt their workspace in line with their business plans.
It’s teed us up nicely for the new decade and I’m looking forward to welcoming even more great businesses into our portfolio; we’ve got space across the country and we’d love to show you around!
