Meet US - 5 minutes with Lindsay Noel

A 5 minute read by Beth Richardson

Lindsay Noel is our dedicated host based at our Boat Shed development in Exchange Quay – a vibrant workspace fit for businesses of all shapes and sizes.

We caught up with Lindsay to find out more about her day-to-day responsibilities, from supporting our customers to organising our community events and showing visitors all we have to offer.

“I usually base myself in the hub – our on-site communal space for our customers to enjoy. In here, we’ve got a range of seating from sofas to tables and a breakfast bar, a coffee machine, drinks and snacks as well as a TV.

“It’s a really social space and means I always get to see and catch up with our customers, making sure I can support them and lend a hand with anything they might need.

“Our customers also use the space to network with other businesses in the building which they otherwise might not get the chance to do. We’ve seen some great relationships built because of the hub which is brilliant to be a part of.

“Next to the hub, we also have a private meeting room which is available for our customers to book out. This space is just as popular as the hub but has a more formal setup with a large six-seater desk and a screen for presentations.

“The beauty of Boat Shed truly is its versatility, and our communal spaces reflect that. Due to the varied office layouts we have at the development, many of our customers benefit from having a separate space for catch ups and more formal meetings. Both spaces are included in our service charge so there’s no additional cost when using them.

“I’m also involved in organising our community events which bring such a buzz to Boat Shed. We host our annual pizza event in the outdoor courtyard overlooking the river with a helping hand from I Knead Pizza and this goes down a treat!

“We’ve hosted yoga and Pilates events in the past to encourage our customers to establish a good work-life balance and bring a touch of wellbeing to site. This compliments our other wellbeing initiatives perfectly, from bike racks and facilities to our outdoor courtyard area.

“Boat Shed has such a great energy, and this is partly down to our facilities, but most importantly, the businesses who choose to base themselves here. Being surrounded by positive, creative businesses day in day out is always refreshing.

“Another big part of my day-to-day is taking prospective customers around the development to show them what’s on offer here and discussing their requirements with them. It’s great to see businesses start to envision themselves in the space and get excited about the opportunities Boat Shed could bring them.”
