We’ve acquired another new site in New Islington, Manchester
We’re hoping to create more new homes for sale or rent on a newly acquired patch of land in Manchester. We have purchased the site at New Islington, expanding our land in the area having completed an off-market deal. It is our 25th acquisition in the past five years and you can read more about them all on our blog.
Urban Splash Residential Fund makes £12m acquisition in Birmingham
The Urban Splash Residential Fund has continued a year of acquisitions with the £12m purchase of Derwent House – a Grade II listed building of 40, one- and two-bedroom duplex homes and lofts in the city’s Jewellery Quarter. The investment comes in an active year for the Fund; the investment portfolio now exceeds £70m with more than 300 homes spread across Manchester, Sheffield, Cambridge, Bristol, Birmingham and Bradford.
We’ve welcomed new customers into 13,700 sq ft of workspace
Our commercial colleagues have welcomed new businesses into our workspace across the country this month, completing deals on more than 13,700 sq ft of space. The biggest single transaction was completed with accountants PKF Francis Clark, which confirmed it would move into more than 8,000 sq ft of space at Melville in Royal William Yard saying the space reflects their “ambition to be a great place to work in every sense”. Other deals completed in Manchester, Salford and Liverpool.
A look around Matchworks
The way we work is changing, and that’s why Matchworks in South Liverpool is filled not only with well-designed, restored art deco workspace, but also places to eat, drink, socialise, workout, and play. In this new guest blog, our agent at the scheme, Andrew Byrne of CBRE, talks about the Matchworks’ unique offering and why businesses love to base themselves there. Watch a video of the workspace available at Matchworks above, and read more on our blog.
Home of the month: 3700 Budenberg, Altrincham
Here’s a rare opportunity to buy a penthouse apartment at Budenberg – our Foster + Partners-designed, canalside building in Altrincham. The 1,390 sq ft of space comprises three bedrooms – one with ensuite – a family bathroom, and generous living space, while outside, there’s a residents’ garden. And it’s all just a short walk from Altrincham Market, shops, bars, and the train station. Now available at offers over £300,000.
Our collegue Akeel is Estates Gazette’s rising star!
Huge congratulations to our colleague Akeel Malik who has won the Estates Gazette Rising Star Award for 2022. Akeel is manager of our Urban Splash Residential Fund, and the EG judges said that he "stood out in a category with many talented young people leading the way in real estate" – crediting his "remarkable accomplishments at such a young age".
Two more awards for Park Hill
We won two awards at this week’s Sheffield Design Awards. The biennial ceremony was set up by the Civic Trust and is a celebration of great buildings and architecture in the city; judges recognised our work at Park Hill, presenting the Residential and Conservation accolades to the scheme. The news takes our total awards to 467 – 26 of them for Park Hill.
