2019 — A year in review!
Seasons greetings! Yes, that very merry time of year is here, and with it comes a chance to reflect on a cracking 2019!
Working harder than the elves on Christmas Eve, our colleagues have created hundreds of new homes and workspaces across the country – not to mention lining up some exciting new neighbourhoods to work on in the decade ahead – and of course completing some pretty significant deals.

January — Bringing new homes to Wirral Waters
We made a joint announcement with Peel L&P that we’d be bringing our House by Urban Splash homes to a new residential quarter at East Float, Wirral Waters.
February — Lister's Pods arrive in Bradford
Our award-winning penthouses on the roof of Lister Mills in Bradford completed in February. The 30 homes received a lot of love; “Lustworthy” said The Sunday Times; “bold” said the Yorkshire Post.
March — We launch the Urban Splash Residential Fund
Outside investors gained access to our branded Urban Splash rental portfolio for the first time following the launch of the Urban Splash UK Residential Fund; initial seed funding of £20m funding was swiftly secured.
April — Mansion House apartments come to Manchester
Our super-sustainable Mansion House apartments are coming to New Islington in Manchester. In April, we revealed their unique timber-clad interiors for the first time.
May — Creating new partnerships
We announced a momentous £90m deal which would transform the House by Urban Splash business, bringing investment in from Homes England and Sekisui House – Japan’s biggest housebuilder.
June — Introducing Inholm, Northstowe in Cambridge
Another collaboration with Homes England made the news when it was announced that we’d be bringing more than 400 House by Urban Splash homes to Inholm, part of Northstowe new town in Cambridgeshire.
July — Launching our show home at Port Loop
We threw open the doors of our Town House show home at Port Loop, in Birmingham, launched our new one-acre public park and we 'Played Out 'Til Tea' too...
August — Taking our expertise to the Lake District
Another collaboration was announced in August as we were selected by The National Trust as their partners in Windermere. House by Urban Splash is excited to be working in the National Park where we will need to draw on our 26 years of experiences to deliver something befitting of such an amazing location.
September — Home for S1 Artspace at Park Hill
While we work hard to deliver the next 200 homes at Park Hill for 2020, planning was granted for S1 Artspace at Park Hill in Sheffield. Plans include a 600 sq m gallery as well as studio space for 50 artists.
October — Unveiling Copper Building in Bristol
Our collection of new penthouses, duplexes and apartments were unveiled at Copper Building in South Bristol; offering dual aspect homes and 10 acres of residents’ gardens, just a handful of homes now remain on sale.
November — Wrapping up commercial deals
We wrapped up more than 116,000 sq ft of new commercial deals in 2019; tenants loved our well-designed spaces, flexible terms and recent investment, which has seen lots of new amenities added across the portfolio.
December — An award-winning year
We've won 19 new awards this year, taking our total to 424! Highlights included Construction News’ Residential Developer of the Year award, an award for our website, plus accolades for Port Loop, Smith’s Dock, Park Hill and Lister Mills too!
