Urban Splash Newsplash - February 2019
Welcome to our February edition of Newsplash - a monthly round-up of all things Urban Splash, featuring new homes, scheme launches, commercial news and much more.
This month, we've got updates on our work at Park Hill, as well as our growing communities at New Islington in Manchester, Smith's Dock in North Shields and Lakeshore in Bristol. There's also a great opportunity for the right person to join our team as Land Director. We've got news on more award wins, bringing our total to 407, and the chance to meet with our team at MIPIM.
£100m invested to deliver Park Hill
We have already created a community of 260 homes, a nursery, café and work spaces at Park Hill in Sheffield — and now we’re busy delivering Phase 2. The next 200 homes, sitting above ground floor commercial space, will take our investment at Park Hill to more than £100m. Phase 3 is warming up too — creating 330 student homes with Alumno Developments.
Mansion House is coming to Manchester
Hot on the heels of Town House and Fab House, we’ll shortly be releasing Mansion House modular apartments for sale. The first of these one and two bedroom apartments will be available in Manchester’s coolest residential area, New Islington. The clever design by shedkm means every home has a dual aspect and views over the marina. Don’t miss out, register your interest now.
A birds-eye view of Lister's Pods
We have 30 zinc clad rooftop penthouse pods for sale and to rent at Lister Mills in Bradford; our new film gives you a birds eye view of architect David Morley’s audaciously modern vision, sat on the top of the Grade II Listed Velvet Mill. The Sunday Times recently featured these “lustworthy” homes that are filling up fast.
Smokehouses become homes
Last weekend saw us open the doors at Smokehouses on the banks of the River Tyne, 80 new waterfront apartments by SimpsonHaugh architects at Smith's Dock. We’ve sold 50% of the homes pre-completion, with the remaining one, two and three bedroom apartments available from just £125,000. There are some pretty amazing commercial spaces coming to the waterside too, with 2,000 sq ft units suitable for shops or cafes on the ground floors; email us to register your interest and we’ll show you around.
Penthouses with a view in South Bristol
Ahead of the completion of Copper Building at Lakeshore in Bristol this summer, we’re launching the light-filled and spacious top floor penthouses for sale. Each of these dual-aspect homes overlooks Lakeshore’s 10 acres of private gardens and very own lake. Register your interest now.
A great opportunity to join our team
We’re always looking for talented, creative thinkers – brilliant people who want to make a difference. This month we are hunting for a Land Director to help us acquire new opportunities to roll out our modular homes, called House, across the country. If you have the skills and experience to help us take House on tour, then click below to find out more.
Taking our awards tally to 407!
We had a great night at the North West Business Insider Awards, taking home the Bespoke and Urban Developer of the Year gong, thanks to our work in the region this past year. Our Chairman Tom Bloxham MBE was crowned Property Personality of the Year too, taking our awards tally to 407 accolades — all of which you can see here.
Meet us at MIPIM?
In just a few weeks our team will be hot-footing it along La Croisette again, joining the many meetings and events at MIPIM. Our colleagues Tom Bloxham, Jonathan Falkingham, Nathan Cornish, Simon Gawthorpe, Julian Curnuck, Guy Ackernley, Emily Handslip and Akeel Malik will all be in Cannes during the week; if you’re there and want to say hello, then drop us a line.
