Urban Splash Newsplash - July 2020
Welcome to our July edition of Newsplash - a monthly round-up of all things Urban Splash, featuring new homes, scheme launches, commercial news and much more.
This month we launch our brand new House by Urban Splash website and configurator, where customers can design their own home using our innovative new tool. We're back working in Plymouth where you can find out more about our plans for the Civic Centre, and there's news of more new homes coming soon at Park Hill in Sheffield. At New Islington in Manchester, we’ve teamed up with designer Jennifer Newman, to offer customers at Piercy Street a new bespoke garden furniture package, and we've also created a new video to showcase Avro lofts in Manchester. Finally, we're looking for more talented colleagues to join our team, read on to find out more.
Design your own home with our new configurator
Our brand new House by Urban Splash design tool is here, meaning you can design your dream home online using the configurator. Buyers can explore dozens of layouts, as well as virtually experimenting with material finishes, creating different spaces and changing the position of kitchens, living areas and bedrooms. You can use it to create a Town House in Manchester, Cambridgeshire and the Wirral.
We’re launching more new homes for sale at Park Hill in Sheffield
25 new homes are launching for sale at Park Hill on 18 July – your next chance to buy one of our brand new duplexes in this Grade II Listed building in the centre of Sheffield. The new homes have been designed by Stirling-Prize winning architects Mikhail Riches whose designs celebrate this modern brutalist classic, with new layouts including double-width balconies. Buyers can visit the sales office by appointment from 18th July, or take a virtual tour of the new homes with our team.
Help us transform Plymouth; we’ve done it before – we can do it again!
We’re working with Plymouth City Council and the University of Plymouth to deliver a new vision for central Plymouth – at the heart of which is our Civic Centre. We want to transform this unloved, rundown building – which is similar to many of our Urban Splash developments of old – into a new cultural and commercial hub. Our award-winning track record on buildings like Lakeshore, Rotunda and Park Hill give us the expertise to make the plans a reality; you can get on board too.
A designer garden for customers at New Islington
We’ve teamed up with designer Jennifer Newman, to offer customers at New Islington a new package on their House by Urban Splash home. Any customer reserving one of our brand new Town House homes at Piercy Street by the end of this month will receive a bespoke garden furniture package designed by Jennifer – worth more than £5,000! She’s designed a bespoke outdoor dining table and planters for the package taking inspiration from Town House.
Learn about the history of one of Manchester’s most interesting buildings
Did you know Avro in Manchester was once the place in which World War II fighter planes were built? And it was once the workplace of LS Lowry? The Grade II Listed building’s packed with fascinating history – and it’s all captured in a new video. Our final remaining homes are some of the biggest in Manchester and are on sale now; inside, we’re celebrating the heritage, retaining brickwork, pillars, beams and other features that make this canalside building – one of the last Victorian mills to be transformed in Manchester – so unique.
Copper Building is complete!
We’ve completed work on our 136-apartment Copper Building in South Bristol, a new building which sits perpendicular to the site’s original Lakeshore building (a Listed structure we restored a few years back) overlooking the lake and ten acres of gardens. Designed by Bristol architects Ferguson Mann, the new building features duplex apartments and penthouses, which are now complete. All of the homes are sold but there are now a few select properties now available on shared ownership with our partners Places for People.
Off the peg didn't work for us
Our customer Katie Kershaw designed her dream, canalside home with House by Urban Splash last year; she and her husband Paul now live in a completely bespoke property at Port Loop in Birmingham – an island neighbourhood being created with the company’s partners Places for People. Click below to read her story, and how configuring her own home resulted in a dream property with rooms that work.
Come join US!
We’re hiring for a number of new roles right now in Sheffield, Alfreton and the Midlands. If you’re an ambitious, original thinker and natural collaborator, we want to hear from you.
