A look to the future, as we reflect on 30 years
2023 marks our 30th year in business, and while we’ll be reflecting on the last three decades, we’ll also be looking ahead, and setting out our vision for the future.
In this special edition of our Newsplash, we unveil our future pipeline – with 4,500 new homes and 500,000 sq ft of commercial space planned in the next five years…
Delivering “one of the most important sites” in Milton Keynes
We’re working up plans for a total 1,500-new homes at Campbell Park in Milton Keynes. The Milton Keynes Development Partnership called the wider development “one of the most important” in the area, adding that it will “help to inspire and shape the city’s future”.
Completing our work at Melville in Plymouth
We will complete our work at Melville – the biggest building at Royal William Yard in Plymouth that is already home to BLOCK café, bar and gym, HubBox and Pho restaurants, and the forthcoming Everyman Cinema. Our next phase here includes 40 new homes and 10,000 sq ft more commercial space.
A new future for Plymouth’s Civic Centre
We’re giving Plymouth’s Civic Centre a new lease of life, with plans to restore this Grade 2* listed building in the centre of the city – that includes 144 new homes and 35,000 sq ft of commercial space due to complete from 2025.
Delivering major changes for Swansea
We’re proud to be Swansea Council’s preferred developer for a major regeneration project that includes several sites across this city by the sea. We’re working on early stage plans which you can find out more about on the link below.
Creating more homes at Park Hill
2022 saw the completion of a new phase at Park Hill, where 195 homes designed by architects Mikhail Riches are now fully occupied. But there’s more, and this year, we’ll be collaborating with our long-time partners Places for People to work up plans for the penultimate phase of 124 homes.
A change of scenery
We’re drawing on our three decades of urban experience to deliver something new for the Lake District, where we’re working on early stage plans for this new community in Windermere with proposals for up to 200 new homes.
Come work with US!
We’re on the hunt for great people to help us deliver these plans. So if you’re an experienced project or development manager and want to work on our developments in Plymouth, Birmingham, Sheffield, Swansea, Milton Keynes or our home turf in Manchester, we’d love to hear from you. Our Residential Fund is also looking for someone to source and manage acquisitions, with an agency background. You can get in touch with our team on the link below, telling us why you want to work with us, and about your work and achievements to date.
MIPIM 2023: Come say hello!
MIPIM is back, and from 14th to 17th March the property industry will descend on Cannes in the South of France. Our colleagues Tom Bloxham, Simon Gawthorpe, Mark Latham, Julian Curnuck, Emily Jones, Emma Gardiner, David Morgan, Maire McKeon and Kim Essop will be there, as well as colleagues from our Urban Splash Residential Fund. They would love to meet up with you if you find yourself with a free hour on La Croissette. Email our colleague Natalie Power who can arrange a meeting.
Home of the month:
27 Derwent House, Birmingham
This is one of the final remaining homes to rent at Derwent House in Birmingham. The listed building is packed with original features, and this one-bedroom duplex home is no different, offering space over two floors. You’ll also enjoy living in the city’s Jewellery Quarter, with independent shops, bars and restaurants all close by.
Workspace of the month:
5 Richmond Street, Manchester
This is the last workspace on offer at Richmond Street in Manchester’s Gay Village. We refurbished the building last year, adding pops of colour to mirror the vibrancy outside. Branding agency Leith and health consultants COUCH have already moved in, meaning this 2,372 sq ft, first floor office is your final chance to work here.
