Welcome to our October edition of Newsplash - a monthly round-up of all things Urban Splash, featuring new homes, scheme launches, commercial news and much more.
This month, we've got big news from Wales, where we've been appointed partner on the £750m transformation of Swansea city centre. We've also got some new images of our 43 new homes at the Peninsula at Inholm, Northstowe in Cambridge, where our Town House homes are now on sale. Back up in Manchester, we've released a new video of some brand new refurbished workspace at Richmond Street in the city centre, and there's also more news from Port Loop in Birmingham, where we've recently one a Housing Design Award and our brand new Row House homes are on sale at the island neighbourhood. Read on to find out more.
Shwmae Abertawe! We’ve been appointed partner on the £750m transformation of Swansea city centre
We’re taking our award-winning ideas to Wales, where we’ve been appointed by Swansea Council to help them transform seven sites in this incredible city on the beach. We hope to create new homes, workspaces, leisure spaces, civic spaces and green spaces. Swansea Council leader Rob Stewart said the news is a “huge vote of confidence” in the city’s potential. Our first homes are taking shape in Cambridgeshire
This new image shows all of the first homes in place on the Peninsula at Inholm – the new neighbourhood we are creating at Northstowe in Cambridgeshire. All 43 homes, which have been precision manufactured at our House by Urban Splash factory, feature high ceilings, oversized windows, high-speed broadband, energy-efficient heating, a private bike store, and views of the waterpark and the rolling Cambridgeshire countryside. They’re on sale now.
Colourful addition to Manchester’s Gay Village
Watch our brand new film, showing customers around the colourful new workspaces we’ve unveiled at Richmond Street in Manchester. With the help of R2 Architecture, we’ve transformed the building to create three storeys of office space that’s available now.
Another award for Port Loop
We welcomed architecture’s best known names to Birmingham this week for the annual Housing Design Awards, part of which was hosted at our Port Loop neighbourhood. After a tour of site, guests headed to the city’s Everyman Theatre where Port Loop was also presented with an award – our 446th accolade (see them all here).
Our newest homes are now on sale
Row House is our brand-new House by Urban Splash offering, and our take on the mews style home. We’ve now launched more of these new homes for sale at Port Loop in Birmingham and Wirral Waters in Merseyside, as well as releasing more of our award-winning Town House homes for sale at New Islington too. Find out more about the range of homes on sales near you and get in touch with our team to book a show home viewing.
There’s something new on the menu at Boat Shed
Welcome to Second City Coffee which has joined our growing commercial community at Boat Shed – a collection of brilliantly-designed, refurbished workspaces overlooking the River Irwell in Salford Quays. Founder Dex has created a new space in which those working and visiting the building can grab delicious lunches, treats and incredible coffee.
Home of the month — 3.2 Avro, Manchester
our last chance to live at Iconic Avro! This Mancunian Loft apartment is the only remaining home for sale at the building – one of the city’s last undeveloped Victorian Mills. Offering a huge 1,140 sq ft of space, the apartment is brimming with original features, like exposed brickwork, cast iron columns and beams; outside there’s a resident’s garden and of course all the buzz of Manchester city centre right outside your door.
Workspace of the month — 211 Vanilla Factory, Liverpool
You’ll find this 377 sq ft workspace in the Ropewalks are of Liverpool city centre. We created it when we transformed the award-winning Vanilla Factory with an eclectic mix of stunning Victorian design and 21st Century architecture. As well as your own workspace you’ll also have access to a brand new communal breakout area complete with bike racks, urban garden and a free-to-use meeting room.
