Description
Back in the early 2000s, we took on the task of transforming the mill – one of the first in Ancoats to be restored.
By 2003, we’d completed the sensitive restoration, creating a space filled with contemporary offices from xx sq ft, each of them packed with stunning original features. A RIBA Award followed that year and was testament to our efforts – celebrating the fusion of modern design and Victorian architecture.
In the years since, the communities surrounding Waulk Mill have become exciting commercial areas; in Ancoats, just a few seconds walk from the building’s front door you’ll find an array of awesome bars and eateries – places like Sugo and Rudy’s – you’ll also find “Manchester’s most promising area”** with its own park, marina and the tasty treats at Pollen Bakery.

About Waulk Mill
Waulk Mill helped spearhead the revival of Ancoats, as it was one of the first mills in the area to be redeveloped. It shows what can be achieved when you let modern thinking breathe life into a glorious historic building and it won a RIBA award for architecture in 2003.
Just over the road from our Beehive Mill workspaces, Waulk Mill puts you in the heart of Ancoats Urban Village. Full of independent retailers like Rudy’s Pizza, Kettlebell Kitchen and Seven Brothers Brewery, it’s buzzing with independent spirit.
