Converted space in Manchester
This Grade II Listed beauty was one of Manchester's last undeveloped Victorian mills; we took a historic blank canvas in which we created apartments upstairs and some beautiful commercial space on the ground floor.
When we refurbished Albert Mill, we created residential and commercial shell spaces - meaning we gave occupiers four walls, blasted brickwork, a front door and timber windows - which they then each shaped for their own use. We left all the beautiful bits of course - the timber beams, the cast iron columns and the original floors - and then let the businesses renting or buying the spaces execute their final vision of a perfect place to work. The result was some pretty stunning workspaces, all of which are occupied today.
