Festive celebrations as Longlands transformation is complete
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash is hosting a Christmas themed event to celebrate the completion of its Longlands scheme in Stalybridge.
Taking place on Thursday 15th December from 5pm until 7pm, the event is a chance for local people to see the changes that have been made at the scheme, including the transformation of the existing 19th Century Mill building, the development of Pattern House and the creation of landscaped garden space.
Speaking ahead of the event, Simon Gawthorpe from Urban Splash said: “We are thrilled to have reached the final furlong at Longlands. This scheme is now home to a great mix of people and will also soon feature an exciting commercial offering. We can’t wait to celebrate with our residents and invite other people from the local community to come and see what’s been achieved.”
Local MP Jonathan Reynolds will join representatives from Urban Splash and the Homes and Communities Agency at the event, where a choir from the local Stalybridge band will perform carols. Mulled wine and Christmas cakes will be served and guests will be given exclusive tours around the scheme.
The event will take place next to the newly built Pattern House, which stands adjacent to the original Mill. In total the two buildings house 103 apartments which are available through outright purchase, rent or a Government backed shared ownership scheme with which, prices will start from just £50,000 for a 50% share. This option is open to buyers with a combined household income of less than £60,000 and in full time employment and allows customers to purchase between 25% and 75% of their own home based on what they can afford.
