Fort Dunlop: An icon of the last decade
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has today been awarded it's 298th award; for it's redevelopment ofFort Dunlop in Birmingham.
The iconic building, which stands prominently over the M6, was recognised as Economic Development Project of the Decade at the Regen WM Prizes 2010 awards, held in Birmingham last night.
Urban Splash Chairman Tom Bloxham said: "This is great news and is testament to the impact that Fort Dunlop has had in Birmingham. The redevelopment has helped create thousands of jobs for the area, with a great mix regional and national organisations setting up here. I am incredibly proud of what it's become."
Fort Dunlop was in good company at the awards, with the famous Bullring shopping centre and Ricoh Arena each crowned highly commended in the same category.
The building is home to a mix of tenants from hotel chain Travelodge, home furnishings chain Dwell,Capita PLC, Ford Retail, structural engineers Cox Turner Morse, marketing company Boxer and the Trinity Mirror group, publishers of the Birmingham Post.
