Recognition for Sheffield as Park Hill wins another national award
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has received four awards at the annual What House Awards which were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Friday 16th November. Among the winning schemes was Sheffield’s own Park Hill that picked up a bronze in the What House Award for Best Exterior at the ceremony. It is the third award this year for Park Hill after the development picked up a Sunday Times British Homes Award and a Green Apple Award.
Urban Splash has sold over half of the first phase of 78 apartments at Park Hill and has recently launched a shared ownership option in conjunction with housing group Great Places to give people on lower incomes a better opportunity to move onto the property ladder. The first new commercial tenant was also recently announced.
The Urban Splash Chief Executive Jonathan Falkingham, who collected the award on behalf of the company, said: "We are thrilled to have achieved these awards. The What House event is notoriously tough, with some of the country's best developers and schemes shortlisted. To have four Urban Splash schemes stand out is fantastic for us. We were awarded across a range of categories which shows how broad our consideration to affordability and sustainability is, without us having to compromise on our 20-year long commitment to good design.
Other Urban Splash schemes to win awards include the company’s redevelopment of Royal William Yard, a Naval yard in Plymouth, Lakeshore in Bristol and Longlands Mill in Stalybridge. The awards take the Urban Splash trophy cabinet total to more than 320.
