Urban Splash announces lettings on over 28,000 sq ft of North West workspace
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced lettings on more than 28,000 sq ft of North West commercial space; with accelerated deal times meaning one transaction was completed in just eight working days.
The company has let workspace to businesses across Manchester and Liverpool including a major 8,439 sq ft single unit letting to Penny Lane Builders who move into the Matchworks development in Speke. The company’s Gerard McEvoy said: “We are delighted to have moved into this brilliant development in a great location; we’ve already been made to feel a part of the Matchworks community which is the perfect place for us to do business.”
A second single deal on a 5,509 sq ft of unit was also completed at the Matchworks to beauty products company Faceworks; it means just one studio now remains at the scheme.
Urban Splash continued its success in the city by retaining existing tenant Global Beauty Products Ltd which has increased its space within the Match Factory, Liverpool by 755 sq ft. Meanwhile in Manchester, the company secured lettings at Waulk Mill and Ducie House to businesses including The Gate Films and Centrebound Ltd. 257 Limited and Savage Fashion have also both taken space at Ducie, marking their return to the Urban Splash portfolio, while tenant Cartwright Pickard Architects has expanded by taking additional space at the Ducie Street scheme. Urban Splash has also welcomed People Solutions to the Schoolhouse – a development close to Media City.
Urban Splash director Emily Handslip said: “Propelled by our success in letting more than 100,000 sq ft of commercial space in 2016, our team has hit the ground running in the first half of 2017.
“They’ve helped businesses of all sizes find their perfect workspace, securing our largest North West deals this year. I’m also proud that, as in the case of Global Beauty, we continue to accommodate our tenants as they expand and grow within our portfolio, something born out of our flexible approach. “
The company is now marketing new units including creative workspaces at Beehive Mill in Ancoats – where interest is increasing following the Urban Splash takeover last month – and the Tea Factory in Liverpool, where the addition of national commercial brand Spaces means the building can accommodate rentals from a single desk up to 11,800 sq ft. Added Emily: “The expansion of our offering and these results have given each of us the impetus to secure equal, if not better, deals for Q2. We’re already having a positive April – so may the results long continue for the coming year.”
