Urban Splash appoints new Land Director and 22 other new hires
Award winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced the appointment of 22 new colleagues across the country – including the appointment of Katie Dean as Land Director – signalling the developer’s appetite for growth as it acquires new sites.
Katie takes on the new role having moved from the strategic land promoter Hallam Land Management where she served as the North West regional manager for over seven years acquiring land and gaining planning permissions for large scale residential development.
Katie’s role at Urban Splash will help the company’s growth in acquiring more sites and expanding the modular House product. Urban Splash has already seen success on nine new developments in the past two years alone, and Katie will continue to build on those achievements. She said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking on this challenge with Urban Splash. Anyone in this sector knows the brand, and the fantastic work the team does in raising the bar through great design.
“I’m delighted to be a part of the company, and to be working on extending the presence of our modular suite of products – an innovative portfolio which is turning heads across the country.”
Katie has an impressive property career behind her; having worked at the P J Livesey Group, Ask Property Developments and also property consultancy G L Hearn.
Joining Katie is newly appointed development manager Hunter Lyden. A chartered structural engineer, Hunter joins the business following an impressive property career with Gladman, Arup and Buro Happold.
Both Hunter and Katie will be based at the Urban Splash head office at Timber Wharf working alongside Urban Splash Group Director Nathan Cornish; speaking of their appointments he said: “We’ve bought 16 sites across the country in the last four years, mainly through opportunistic or partnership purchasers – so we have a clear desire to grow and develop even more homes and workspaces.
“Our new colleagues have the skills to help us deliver on these plans; Katie’s role will be to continue this growth whilst also adding more focus to our strategy especially in areas of the country where we have yet to work in, while Hunter will help deliver a pipeline of more than 3000 new homes across the country. They are both outstanding candidates and we are delighted they accepted their roles.”
Urban Splash continues the expansion of its land acquisitions team and is currently recruiting a bid co-ordinator to work alongside the land team and help bolster the acquisition strategy. Katie and Hunter’s appointments also come amidst a series of new roles created by Urban Splash; 22 other new colleagues have joined the business in the past quarter including new warehouse and production operative professionals joining the team at the Urban Splash modular housing factory. Meanwhile Olly Wigglesworth has joined the company as head of design – supporting Urban Splash’s desire to continually raise the bar with its marketing – and Neil Vaughan has joined the business as sales negotiator to handle sales of the final homes at New Islington in Manchester, including the recently launched Mansion House apartments.
The company is still on the lookout for more colleagues with current vacancies for development managers and site managers. Anyone wishing to find out more should visit: urbanplash.co.uk/careers
