Urban Splash completes more than 28,000 sq ft of deals – including first lettings at Richmond Street in Manchester

    12 October 2022

Award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash has completed deals on 28,000 sq ft of space.

Among the deals are the first completions at Richmond Street in Manchester. Urban Splash acquired the 7,063 sq ft building in the city’s Gay Village and refurbished it last year. With the support of its agents Canning O’Neill, Urban Splash has already let two thirds of the space, with creative agency Leith moving in, in September.

Speaking of the move, Richard Marsham Group Managing Partner of Leith added: “We sought out a well-designed and collaborative space in central Manchester and we’re really pleased to have completed on our new offices, working with a flexible and likeminded landlord keen to support our growth ambitions in the city.”

Other deals completed since July include at Waulk Mill in nearby Ancoats where Primary Eyecare has moved into a 1,574 sq ft of space. Meanwhile in Salford Quays, space has been let to JD Cooling Limited.

In Plymouth, where the Urban Splash commercial portfolio includes the vast Royal William Yard, the company has let more than 13,000 sq ft of space in the newly restored Melville building.

5,264 sq ft was let to BLOCK Gym; BLOCK recently announced it would establish a workspace within Melville, with this latest deal seeing the operator add a 24-hour gym to the building. A second deal on more than 8,700 sq ft of space was completed with chartered accountants PKF Francis Clarke; the latter’s managing partner Duncan Leslie said: “Royal William Yard combines Plymouth’s rich heritage with a vibrant community of forward-thinking people and businesses. Investing in creating our own custom-designed offices within this exciting development is a sign of our commitment to the city, and we believe will help us continue to attract and retain the best talent to serve our clients.”

Emily Jones is commercial director at Urban Splash and said: “The joy of bringing new customers into our buildings is something that never wanes, and I’m delighted to have managed so many completions over the summer. We remained very active throughout the period and the result is completions in recent weeks which have once again diversified our Urban Splash places.

“The appeal is our great design and our commitment to putting customers first – offering each occupier flexible rent terms, from monthly licenses to long leases – as well as communal offerings like bike stores, showers, gardens, cafes, hubs.

“I’m proud we’ve continued what has been a great year for our commercial portfolio and look forward to announcing more new customers moving into our portfolio very soon.”
