Urban Splash strengthens Commercial and Development teams with two new hires
Award-winning regeneration company Urban Splash has announced the appointment of two experienced property professionals, Nicky Harries and Sian Stanhope, as it prepares for a year of creating new homes, workspaces and communities across the UK.
Nicky Harries has joined Urban Splash’s expanding commercial team as commercial lettings manager. Working alongside Head of Commercial Property Emma Gardiner, Nicky will focus on attracting new customers and income opportunities to the company’s nationwide portfolio of workspaces and mixed-use communities, which includes properties in key cities such as Manchester, Liverpool, and Plymouth. Nicky will also contribute to and oversee the ongoing investment programme into Urban Splash’s workspaces. This year, the programme has already delivered significant upgrades at properties like Waulk Mill in Manchester and Ropewalks in Liverpool.
The news marks a return to Urban Splash for Nicky, who previously worked in the commercial team and has gained extensive industry experience with roles at organisations including Bruntwood.

Joining Nicky is Sian Stanhope, who has been appointed as development manager. Sian will focus on two major Urban Splash projects in Sheffield. The first includes the final phases of development at the Grade II-listed Park Hill, a brutalist icon that Urban Splash has transformed into a thriving community with hundreds of new homes, amenities, and thousands of square feet of commercial space. Two further phases of development at Park Hill received planning approval in 2024.
Sian will also work on the transformation of the former Cole Brothers department store in Sheffield city centre, where Urban Splash is creating a new urban hub. A Sheffield Hallam University master’s graduate, Sian has enjoyed a diverse career, including roles with LCR Property and local authorities such as Barnsley Council, where she worked on the Principal Towns Project.
Nicky and Sian will join the team at Urban Splash’s head office in Manchester. Speaking of their appointments, CEO Julian Curnuck said: “We are delighted to welcome Nicky and Sian to Urban Splash.
“Both bring a wealth of experience and a passion for delivering innovative, sustainable projects. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to create exceptional new homes and workspaces while reinvigorating communities across the country.”
